BloggerPods Woooo!

Wow, what a great response the BloggerPods tournament has been getting. 45 bloggers have registered, and 29 are already in the poker tournament. I’ll try to take new registrations up until the last minute, but there’s always a chance the site or my Internet can go down, so get in as soon as you can.

Mac PartyPoker Ad

If you have a PartyPoker account, then you probably received a copy of their magazine the other day. Inside it was some poker strategy, pictures of their (hot) new model, and surprisingly a full page Mac compatible PartyPoker ad.

Maybe they were expecting to have the full version out by now, or at least have real money play available. Their no-download Mac beta version is out, but not yet advertised anywhere noticeable on their website.

Mac Absolute Poker (Rumor)

Update - Mac Absolute poker is here!

It seems like a lot of poker sites are planning Mac compatible releases lately. It only took 8 years, but better late then never. I just read a rumor today, that Absolute Poker may be releasing a Mac version soon.

A representative from Absolute Poker just got a hold of me. She said they had plans to become Mac compatible.

Party Poker Releases Beta Mac Client

Party Poker has quietly released a Mac and Linux compatible no download Beta version of their Online Poker Room. The new software uses java, which allows it to be displayed on any java enabled web browser, like Safari and Firefox.

Pokerroom / Ongame Lag Problems

A few players have reported problems with the speed of the game since the latest Ongame update. Ongame is the software provider for some of the largest Mac poker rooms, like Pokerroom and Holdempoker.

Pokerroom has confirmed that the latest update is causing some players to experience a temporary lag between hands. They’re quickly working to fix the problem, and say that players can, “turn off statistics until the problem is fixed”, as a temporary solution.

Bodog Poker for Mac?

Online gaming giant, Bodog, is planning to release a Mac compatible version of their poker room. They haven’t confirmed release date yet, but in an email they stated that they’re, “working to provide a Macintosh software solution in the very near future.”

Currently Bodog poker is only available on windows with a download client, but you can play at their casino or bet on sports or entertainment on a Mac.
