The October 8th, 2007 NBC’s Poker After Dark match will prove to be truly electric. The customary buy-in amounts for matches have been $20,000. This match aptly named Mega Match has the player buy-in amount increased to $50,000 with the prize package for the winner worth $300,000.
Monday’s match will feature heavy hitters who are notably skilled in playing in high stakes tournaments. Phil Ivey, Winner of 5 WSOP Bracelets and a regular at the Big Game at The Bellagio in Vegas and a member of FullTilt Poker; Jennifer Harman, Winner of 2 WSOP Bracelets and a regular at The Bellagio in Vegas, and a member of FullTilt Poker; Allen Cunningham, Winner of 5 WSOP Bracelets and named 2006 Player of The Year by ‘All In’ Magazine and a member of FullTilt Poker; Benny Greenstein, Winner of 2 WSOP Bracelets and 2 WPT Titles; David Benyamine, Winner of 1 WPT Open Title and 1 WPT Invitational Title; and Eli Elezra, Winner of 1 WSOP Bracelet and 1 WPT Title; this group of players are the upper echelon in poker.
In relation to any other world poker tournaments, this is one of the most expensive buy-ins to date. Poker After Dark can be seen Monday through Friday at 2:05a.m. and Saturdays at 1:00am with game highlights and player interviews.
