So who would have ever thought that the Las Vegas stage show would come face to face with the game of poker. Well to every one’s amazement the Venetian Hotel & Casino has announced that come fall, they will be introducing an interactive poker-themed stage show called “The Real Deal”. The Venetian has said that the show will bring together some of the most well known players in poker and it will put together a show including humor, technology, prizes and poker in what is described as a “wildly-fun, fast-paced action that will entertain poker enthusiasts and non-players a like.”
The show when it starts should be one of the most popular shows on the strip because it will allow regular old players that play in small poker games or just watch it on TV, the chance to play big name pros Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Gavin Smith and more. The way this is accomplished is when the show begins, six members of the audience will be chosen to go up on stage to play against two of the poker pros and play a texas holdem’ tournament style format. Everyone else will be able to play along as well to try and gain points on their touch screen device which will be mounted on each seat. Each audience member will be able to wager points on the action going on up on the stage or make prop bets, such as what the flop will look like or who will win and many more ways to earn points. When the show is coming closer to an end, a player with the most amount of points in the audience, the audience player with the most chips on stage, and the pro with the most chips will then play a three-handed finale. When the show is completed the winner of the three-handed finale will get a prize and also players that are in the audience will be able to redeem points for prizes as well. The prizes you will be able to receive will vary from “The Real Deal” merchandise to home electronics and more.
During the show a comedic host will entertain the audience with gags, jokes and other wild antics with players that are on stage so no one in the audience will get bored by just watching players play a poker game on stage.
The biggest draw that will be available during the show will be a chance to win $1 million dollars. During each show there will be 4 rounds that audience members will be able to take part in and during these rounds the audience members will select five-face down cards from a standard 52 card deck on their touch screen device and the ten players with the highest ranking hand will then advance to the final round. In the final round the last remaining 40 audience members will then pick another five card hand and if one audience member selects a royal flush then they will win the $1 million dollar prize.
If this show is everything they are saying it is going to be, then I predict that this show will be jammed packed with tourists and locals every night the show plays.
