The Poker Players Alliance has announced that they will be partnering with the American Gaming Association to host a charity poker tournament at the Republican National Convention that is due to take place next week at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. The tournament will take place on September 3rd in St. Paul at 116 First Ave North. There will be a VIP reception at 10:00 p.m., after which the charity tournament will start.
All the money raised at the charity event will go to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Anyone who wishes to enter the event will need to purchase a sponsorship package which includes various combinations of tournament and spectator seats. The smallest package is one spectator seat for $250, while the largest package is eight tournament seats and four spectator seats for $10,000. Other packages include one tournament seat for $1000 and a $5000 package that yields four tournament seats and two spectator seats. All of these donations are tax deductible.
The Paralyzed Veterans of America is a charity that supports veterans who have spinal cord injuries and diseases. The PPA And AGA hosted a tournament at the Democratic National Convention as well where they raised $60,000. Ben Affleck won the event.
