Confirming the rumors that have been flying around for the last couple weeks, the World Poker Tour recently announced the removal of the 2009 Borgata Poker Open from the WPT’s Season Seven schedule. The WPT Borgata Poker Open Event had been scheduled to take place at the end of January in 2009.
The Borgata also made their own announcement, saying that they will replace the WPT event that with another tournament at the Borgata Winter Poker Open. While the details for the Borgata Winter Poker Open are still being revised, but the latest schedule does include a $3000 + $200 four-day event set to being January 25, 2009 and to have a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000.

WPT dropping a client in this economy while their stock an abysmal under $1 price on the stock market is absolutely ridiculous. WPT is a failing company and at least Borgata has the knowledge to fold their hand when it’s no good.
It’s all about the EPT (European Poker Tour)now anyway
