The opportunity to represent your country is one of the best feelings in the world. To play poker in front of thousands of spectators is exhilarating. Now the average player has the chance to do both this week during the Americas Cup of Poker presented by PokerStars.com. This tournament consists of 16 countries, USA, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Guatemala, Panama and Honduras, to compete against each other for the coveted cup. These teams are split into 4 groups and will play round robin events. In the end, the top 8 countries with the most points will move on to the final in the Andes mountains.
Tournaments for countries are going on now, so be sure to sign up and fight for your country. Additionally, players that earn the most points for their country will be representing them in Andes, with one additional Team PokerStars pro on your team to guide you to victory. Tournaments start at $0.20 and only go as high as $5.50. Be sure to be cautious on the tables and not knock out your fellow country men, as this is a team event.
